Innovative and Empowering Licensed Psychotherapist, Allocating and Delivering Services in Communities in Need.
Dedicated licensed marriage and family therapist, utilizing over ten years of learning and experience to serve and support the mental health and wellness of people in need. Championed techniques to nourish the minds and emotional requirements of clients, I’ve used my evolving skill set and growing education to produce resources and foster necessary psychological services to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and otherwise marginalized groups. My goal is to empower healthy communities through the effective use of interventions, humanistic, and whole-person strategies.
I am also a Subject Matter Expert helping to further develop licensing exams with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
I have advanced training in various therapeutic orientations and uses an integrative approach to therapy to meet the unique needs of each client. I believe it is in the relationship, with ourselves and others, that we have the greatest capacity for happiness and suffering; it is my hope that I help increase people's motivation to pursue more of the joy their lives can offer. I believe that people do this in a number of ways and that people have natural resources within themselves that can lead to more fulfilling relationships and lives. I aim to help others rediscover their resources and use themselves intentionally to pursue the kind of life they want to live.
I have a lot of passion for what I do, love for the people I serve, and respect for our work. My experiences in the field have shaped my sense of compassion and leadership. They’ve also motivated me to stay involved and connected to those communities. I believe in the importance of fighting for the rights of people who have no seat at the table. My experience working with low income and monolingual Spanish speaking families, refugees, and other marginalized communities motivates me to elevate their voices.
Over the past three years, I have been a member of both the CAMFT Federal Grassroots Advocacy Group and the CAMFT Strategic Planning Committee, where we worked to address the future of the organization on a broader scale. I will also be serving as a Clinical Director-At-Large CAMFT Board of Directors from June 2020.
